Yesterday, I ran in the Vestal Coalhouse 4 Miler! I didn't train for the race, nor did I plan on running but I was talked into participating. Even though I wasn't thrilled at first, I am happy that I got through it. It's been awhile since I have really ran a long distance but there was a point in time where I ran 4 miles on the treadmill a few times a week. If you are a runner, you know there's a big difference between running on a treadmill and running outside, though.

The point I'm really trying to get across is that you can honestly do anything that you put your mind to. I begged my boyfriend to walk with me but he was not having it! He kept telling me it would be worth it and kept encouraging me to keep pushing harder. I could have used the excuse that I didn't train for the race but this race was doable! The further I ran, the more I realized that I had come too far to quit! My time was 45:10 which isn't bad for someone who jumped in the race at the last minute with no training so I can't complain. I'm just happy that I accepted a challenge and completed something that I thought I could not do. I kept saying "I can't believe I did it" and my boyfriend responded with "I don't know why people say that. Anyone can do anything it's just a question of how long it will take them to get it done." Mr Smarty Pants! But he is absolutely right.

Have you taken on a challenge recently?
