I don't know about you, but I am noticing all over social media that my friends are all getting engaged or learning that they are expecting a baby. I have to keep saying that I cannot compare my life to theirs. Experts have weighed in on the best length of time for couples to be dating before they take the leap into marriage.

While there is no minimum length of time that you and your partner should be dating, that all depends on the two of you, it is recommended that you and your partner should be dating between twelve and eighteen months. That's about how long it takes for infatuation and lust to fade and for a couple to realize if they are actually compatible or not.

Even though there are no official rules about dating, there are a few milestones that you and your partner should tackle before you consider getting married. For one thing, if you can survive the holidays with each other's families, you may just have a good thing going.

There are no real formulas for success in relationships, but it is safe to say that if you meet someone on a Monday, and get married that Friday, you may have a harder time than if you take it slow and date for a year or more.
