Last night I was browsing some of my favorite blogs and one blog entry in particular really caught my attention. The Krazy Coupon ladies were telling readers that you can fly for free by being a nanny on an airplane!

It's funny because earlier in the day yesterday, my boyfriend and I were discussing what it would be like to be a flight attendant or pilot where you are going to a variety of destinations as your job. Being an air nanny didn't even cross our minds!

What you will do as an air nanny:

  • Passengers will pay you to help watch over their children during their flight
  • Passengers may pay you for helping carrying baggage
  • Running errands during layovers, including getting the kids fed and keeping them occupied by playing cards games or something alike.

How to become an air nanny:

You will be hired by an individual or family rather than the airline. You get your name out there by registering and creating an online profile. If a family finds that your profile makes you a good fit, they will follow up with a phone interview. If the interview goes well, you will show up for work at the airport before the flight and meet the family. Keep in mind that if you meet the children at the airport and decide that it is not a good fit, you can back out.

How to register:

According to the Krazy Coupon Lady website, the most secure place to register is Nanny in the Clouds.

Do you know anyone who has ever worked as an air nanny? What was their experience like?
