After the presidential and vice presidential debates that we've seen lately, I think we all feel a little ashamed of our country (or at least I do). The natural reaction is to flee and move to Canada because I'd rather hear "Eh!" a lot than hear "Make America Great Again!" one more time.

Here's what you need to know if you decide to move to Canada:

  • Be at least eighteen years old. First off, if you are, vote in November!
  • Have a skill that Canada would want, and enter the pool for skilled immigrants. Canada has a program called Express Entry, which allows skilled workers to apply for entrance into the country. They fill out an application, and based on their skills and talents are given a score. Those with the highest scores are offered entrance into the country.
  • If you don't have any special skills or talents: have a permanent residence in Canada. You can apply to a specific province in Canada and convince them why you should live there. Each province is allowed to nominate a specific number of people to become residents every year.
  • After six years of residence, you can apply to become a full-fledged citizen. Which will offer you the ability to vote, run for office, etc.

It may seem easy, but it is a long process if you want to become a Canadian citizen. However, what's better? Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, or six years living in a different and new country? See you across the border!
