It’s hard to believe that we are already into the middle of March! March has a lot of exciting things to look forward to. There’s St. Patrick’s Day, the first day of spring and of course the biggest tournament known to mankind.

It seems like just over a month ago we ended football season with the Superbowl, but March is dedicated to another fan favorite sport. Yep, we’re talking about basketball.

The court is just heating up with over 68 teams in the tournament. Everyone is gathering around their television sets, eagerly placing bets and inviting their family and friends over. They all want in on the action but then you’re the one left to clean-up from the excitement, not to mention the bill to pay for all the supplies.

So what is the cheapest way to throw a fun but inexpensive viewing party?

You’re 'Social Media' Invited: Snail mail has become a thing of the past. You can save on stamps and paper by using social media. Facebook allows you to start a group invite or just send a private message to your closest friends.

Interesting Internet Ideas: Every sports fan has a pizza delivery service stored in their phone for an easy access to food for their party necessities but how about making your own? Pinterest is a great app to check out for recipe ideas.

BYO: With every guest invite, have each of them bring their own dish to pass. This eliminates cooking and stress for the host.

Bulk Up: Maybe you only invited 10 people so you’re probably standing in the paper goods aisle wondering why you need 100 napkins and paper plates. Believe it or not sometimes buying a bigger bundle is cheaper! Look on the bright side you’ll have those things on hand for you next party.

The Hostess with the Mostess: What sports fan doesn’t like betting on their favorite teams and winning cash? Have your guest place their bets and whoever wins has to split the money with the host of the party. You can look up all the upcoming games or even create your own bracket.
