Does your mind ever start to race as soon as your head hits the pillow? Bustle has a few tricks to help you slow your mind and prepare for bedtime so that you can fall asleep more easily.

  • Do something relaxing (that isn't on your phone) such as reading a book or writing in a journal. The light from your phone can disrupt your sleep, but doing something else that is slower and more relaxing can help you get ready for bed.
  • Drink a hot cup of decaffeinated tea as it can warm your body and your soul before bed. Chamomile tea or any herbal decaffeinated tea would do the trick.
  • Try some light stretching or simple yoga poses to help ease your body and mind before hitting the hay. Yoga has been known to decrease the symptoms of anxiety and stress, so it's definitely worth a try!

A lack of sleep, or of quality sleep, can harm many other aspects of your daily life, so preparing for bed and making sure you get enough sleep can be some of the best things that you can do for yourself.
