Yesterday, the Binghamton Mets announced their new nickname for Binghamton’s Eastern League baseball team. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies!

Team owner John Hughes was on hand for the announcement that happened at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School on Conklin Avenue.

Social media was buzzing with people both for and against the new name. I personally like the new name. For me though, it's much more than just the new name.

I love going to the games in the summer. It is a fun time hanging at the stadium, getting a bite to eat, watching some baseball, and seeing the fan interaction between innings.

The staff does such a great job making sure that your experience at the stadium is a memorable one. So, no matter what they call the team (Studd Muffins might have been hard to swallow), I will be at the stadium this summer for another great season! I hope you will join me there for fun and memorable times!

The Rumble Ponies’ official colors are Carousel Silver, Fire Red and Binghamton Blue according to the ball club’s official news release.  Merchandise featuring the Rumble Ponies’ new design is now available at NYSEG Stadium.
