Authorities are reporting slippery roads throughout the Twin Tiers and are urging motorists to, not only be aware of road conditions, but to also be careful around plows and salt trucks.

In addition to taking extra time to account for road conditions, drivers were given the "heads up" that they could have some hefty windshield scraping to do if they were parked outside.

Road crews were sent out early in the morning February 2 while only a light dusting of snow was reported over most of the area.  That snow, however was sticking and freezing to road surfaces that had been just wet before the temperatures began to fall overnight.  Officials say the problems with slick conditions could continue through the weekend with snow blowing onto the roads, which could still refreeze.

The National Weather Service says the daytime temperature today should be in the teens but will continue to fall into the single digits overnight.  Wind chill temperatures below zero are expected.
