Thousands of people turned out to the New York State Fairgrounds for the first day of the Insane Inflatables 5K fun run, walk, bounce.

People from Chenango Valley School district, United Health Services, Owego all checked in even to some people who drove hours from New Jersey to join in the fun to benefit Samaritan Center, helping the needy in the region.

Many of the runners were celebrating special occasions or had their own cause they were running for including Wounded Warriors and Breast Cancer Awareness.

MJ with the orange hair was celebrating his 40th birthday.

It was assured to all the participants that the perfect weather was courtesy of News Radio 1290 WNBF, 98.1 the HAWK, 99.1 the WHALE and WILD 104.

Day two Sunday looks to shape up just as nicely.

Even if you are not participating in the course, you can come out and take in the spectacle of the runners, some of them in outrageous costumes, food and beverage.

This is something the Southern Tier and Central New York have never before seen!
