The New York Post is reporting that April the giraffe is on pregnancy watch. Of course, April became a worldwide celebrity last year when she gave birth to a male Tajiri at Animal Adventure in Harpursville.

According to the report in the New York Post, for the last 30 days, the staff has been collecting a fecal specimen from April's stall. I'm glad I don't have that job. They place them in plastic bags with the date on them and then place them in a freezer for storage. The samples will be shipped to another zoo's lab to confirm whether or not April is expecting.

If the sixteen-year-old April is pregnant, she will likely give birth in 2019, Last year April became famous around the world with the webcam posted at Animal Adventure that had her on 24-hour surveillance. According to the report in the New York Post, more than 232 million viewers checked in and more than one million people watched as she actually gave birth to Tajiri, making her the biggest celebrity in the Binghamton Area. Even more popular than our own Don Morgan.

April has already had four calves according to the New York Post, but Tajiri was the first born at Animal Adventure. Tajiri, his father Oliver, and April are all under one roof at the locally owned park located at 85 Martin Hill Road in Harpursville. Animal Adventure is also home to black bears, zebras, monkeys, a kangaroo, a lion, as well as dozens of other animals.
