Whether you're newly single, or you have been single for quite some time, you may be wondering when you need to get back out there and date. Bustle says that for some people, dating may not be what they need. Single life certainly suits some of us just fine, and if you may think that it's what's best for you, there are a few ways to tell.

  • You never took a break after your last break-up and just hopped back into dating. While this is common, it does prevent you from really learning about what caused your break-up and what you can do in the next relationship to avoid those same problems.
  • You're in a transition either you just moved to a new city, or you are starting a new job, whatever the change may be, you might want to take some time to get adjusted and put your ducks back in a row before trying to date again.
  • You want a partner to fix your problems however, that's not how having a partner should work. If you're feeling empty or not 100%, that's not something someone else can help you with. Take time for yourself and focus on self-care in order to be the best version of yourself for when someone else comes along for you.

It's great to put yourself out there and explore the dating scene, but sometimes focusing on yourself and being single for a while can open you up to great opportunities that you could have never experienced with a partner. Whichever way you go, embrace it!
