When you spend so much time with someone else, you're bound to bicker here and there about silly things. Bustle says that bickering is usually normal, but there are signs that it could be part of a larger relationship issue.

  • When bickering includes accusations and an assault on your character then it is much worse than "why didn't you take the garbage out?" If you're feeling hurt and conflicted after something that was suppose to be minor, than that's a sign of a much bigger issue for the two of you that you need to work out.
  • When you don't have a way to repair the issue than the bickering could be something bigger than you and your partner know or understand. You shouldn't feel like you're walking on eggshells around your partner, so try to find a solution to the issue that is causing all of the bickering.
  • When you wouldn't want your friends and family to hear the bickering then it is very possibly a bigger issue that you would be embarrassed about if anyone were to hear you two argue back and forth about.

Bickering happens in every relationship, but how you bicker matters. If it blows up into a bigger fight, if you attack your partner with name calling, then you need to figure out the deeper issue and address that right away.
