There are some nights that I don't get nearly half the amount of sleep I need to function the next day. When I wake up I feel ugly. It turns out I really didn't get enough beauty sleep.

I always thought that the term beauty sleep was made up by an ugly person. And, I have to tell you that there have been mornings where I feel like I fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Well, it turns out that there is some truth to that. And, according to BBC, beauty sleep is a VERY real thing.

Researchers out of Sweden took photos of people after two good nights of sleep and two nights of only four hours of sleep . . . and then they had strangers rank how attractive they were in the different photos. And the pictures where people were well-rested got better scores.

"They were rated as more attractive, healthier, and friendlier than they were in the photos when they hadn't gotten much sleep."

So, the next time your spouse nags you to do quit being lazy and do something, refer them to this article.
