Jennifer Lawrence: So good at issuing bizarre sentiments unprovoked, and so good at making much more money than everyone else with the same job.

For the second year in a row, J-Law has topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid actresses, beating out Melissa McCarthy, Scarlett Johansson and literally every other working A-list actress, as the list's theme suggests.

J-Law made a massive $46 million over the last year, largely thanks to the final Hunger Games installment, which earned nearly $660 million in theaters. Her total is down from $52 million between 2014 and 2015, but likely on the upswing, as she's cemented a huge pre-release deal for forthcoming sci-fi film Passengers.

McCarthy, who's the biggest dollar earner year-over-year (she's up $10 million thanks to a huge Ghostbusters paycheck) lands at No. 2 on the list with $33 million. Johansson, who rounds out the Top 3 with $25 million, raked in $17.5 million alone from the forthcoming Ghost in the Shell. Her casting as iconic Japanese character Major Matoko drummed up controversy upon its April announcement.

Also of note: Jennifer Aniston lands at No. 4 with $21 million, Charlize Theron is at No. 6 with $16.5 million and Julia Roberts is at No. 8 with $12 million. The list's two non-American actresses — China's Fan Bingbing and India's Deepika Padukone — landed at No. 5 with $17 million and No 10. with $10 million, respectively. Theron is a dual citizen of the United States and South Africa.

The success considered, Forbes' study indicates Hollywood still has a very long way to go in its financial treatment of women. While just four actresses on the list made more than $20 million over the past year, 18 male actors achieved the same feat (a full list of the industry's highest-earning men will appear in Forbes on Thursday). Plus, women still only account for less than 30 percent of speaking roles in film, and were shown either partially or totally nude nearly 30 percent of the time.
