It looks like Joey Chestnut is not the 'top dog' anymore. For the first time is almost a decade, someone other than Joey Chestnut is the winner at the annual July 4th Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest in New York! But, on the bright side, he has made quite a successful career...eating!

The annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest went down in Coney Island, New York on July 4th, and there was a huge upset. 31-year-old Joey Chestnut has won the contest 8 years in a row.

However, this year, a 23-year-old named Matt Stonie won by eating 62 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes! This is all while Joey "only" ate 60.  Matt placed second last year when he ate 56 to Joey's 61.

Don't feel too bad for poor Joey though. He still holds the world record for hot dog consumption, which he set in 2013 when he ate 69.

Matt's prize for winning by the way, besides eternal glory, is $20,000!  Weirdly enough, both Joey and Matt are from San Jose, California.

If you were going to be in an eating contest, what food would you like to eat?
