Johnson City Traffic, Bus Service Adjustments
Friday’s funeral for Johnson City Police Officer David Smith will result in some changes for motorists and bus riders in the village.
According to Johnson City officials, a section of Main Street will be closed for several hours between Saint Charles Street and the arch at Floral Avenue. The closure is scheduled to be in effect from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.
BC Transit buses will be detoured during that period as a result of the street closure.
All Main Street stops between Route 201 and Floral Avenue will not be served between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The #35 Binghamton-Endicott bus will use Floral Avenue between Main Street and Route 201.
Floral Avenue bus stops will be served by #23 and #35 buses.
There’ll be temporary delays along Prospect Street, Airport Road, CFJ Boulevard and Lester Avenue for the #17 Johnson City and the #7 Clinton Street buses for the funeral procession.
The #17 Johnson City bus will not provide service on Brocton Street, North Arch Street and Main Street between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church on Main Street starting at 11 a.m. Friday.
