I know it seems like the summer is winding down, but I wouldn't pull out the winter coats and hats just yet! There are plenty of summertime attractions around the area that are still open where you can bring your friends or family.

The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park is still open daily until the middle of October. Then it will be open on weekends until the end of November. If you haven't taken a trip to the zoo, now is the time to do it while the weather is still nice!

Animal Adventure out in Harpursville, New York is now open weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays). Their operating hours are listed on their website.

While the carousels in Broome County are closed for the season, the parks themselves are still open every day! From dawn to dusk, you can visit any local park and play on the swings or the slides, feed the ducks or just walk around and enjoy the fresh air.

And let us not forget about ice cream! The seasonal ice cream shops are still open in the area, like Wolfie's on Country Club Road in Endwell and Humdinger's out on Upper Front Street in Binghamton. We're still getting temperatures in the 70s, so what's a better way to hold on to the summer than with a huge ice cream cone?
