Some area municipalities are reminding residents that some changes in their regular services can be expected for the Labor Day holiday September 7.

Johnson City and the City of Binghamton, for example, are advising a revision to yard waste and garbage collection with services being cancelled for the day.

Government offices are closed along with the Post Office and several businesses, including banks.

Public schools in the Southern Tier are due to start September 8.  Wayne Highlands School District in Pennsylvania, which was supposed begin classes August 31 is also due to begin the fall semester September 8 since opening was delayed by renovations in the district that weren’t finished yet.
