From making a sartorial statement on the red carpet to singing her heart out onstage, Lady Gaga had one helluva night at the Met Gala on May 2. Following the fashionable main event, Gaga (in a different, more relaxed outfit than sparkly bodysuit ensemble) made her way to one of the afterparties, where Mother Monster treated the crowd to an intimate cover of the Talking Heads' 1983 smash (and my go-to song to play while cooking dinner) "Burning Down the House."

Dressed in a sharp black blazer and with her white-blonde mane wild and free (free as her hair), Gaga joined British Grammy Award-winning "Uptown Funk" producer Mark Ronson onstage to perform the iconic new wave jam. Strumming along on electric guitar, the "Born This Way" singer gave the rendition a punky, modern twist. Watch a clip from the performance below:

And the original funky '80s track, for your viewing pleasure:

Of course, the live performance isn't the first time Gaga and Ronson have worked together. As the producer revealed earlier this year, the two have been hard at work on the pop star's follow-up to 2013's ARTPOP.

Talking to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 back in February, Ronson revealed, "We just spent some time in the studio when she was in London. She’s kind of like a muso at heart — she loves just sitting at a piano and barking orders at a drummer and she has an incredible voice. She’s one of the great voices in pop music, so we’re going to start with the songs and go from there."
