During a visit to Huron Campus Wednesday afternoon, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that a "gigafactory" is to be constructed. The $140 million plant is to produce lithium-ion batteries for a fledgling company called C4V.

The governor said the manufacturing facility is expected to create more that 230 jobs.

C4V president Shailesh Upreti said the support of the Southern Tier and New York state have been vital in his company's development.

Upreti said the region has the resources needed to support high-technology businesses.
