My very first Do-it-yourself project came to life a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for Italy themed corn hole game boards. When I realized they would cost about $200 to buy. I decided to make a set.

Measure twice and cut once!

The only problem is that I have never used any kind of carpentry tools. The hard part was using these tools and not losing a finger. I have always envied people who were good at woodworking. I learned it is much more than cutting a piece of wood.

There is measuring, math, and angles involved. And, as the pros say, "Measure twice and cut once!"

After I assembled the game boards, I had to prime the wood and then paint them. I made the bags using feed corn and duck cloth. The bags and the game boards are made to the specifications of the Corn Hole Game Association of America.

There is something very fulfilling about working with your hands and making something with your own sweat and hard work.
