The LUMA Projection Arts Festival was held last weekend in downtown Binghamton and drew massive crowds.  This was the fourth annual LUMA event and the first that went for more than one night.  LUMA animations were featured on Friday and Saturday nights. A Storytellers Conference with various lectures and presentations was held on Sunday.  Tens of thousands of people of all ages jammed the center of the city.  The light show featured animated videos that were shown on the sides of several of the largest buildings in the downtown area.

A new segment to this year's LUMA Projection Arts Festival was "Transfiguracio" that was held inside the United Presbyterian Church on Chenango Street.  This featured a light show that was coordinated with music from members of the Binghamton Philharmonic.

Streets were blocked off around the downtown to enable those in attendance to walk to the various sites where animation features were being shown.  LUMA also featured Sight Unseen: A Lights Out Dinner Experience.  This provided a unique "in the dark" dining experience at several downtown restaurants.  There were plenty of vendors who displayed various items for purchase.  Food and refreshments were readily available.  Strange Brew with two downtown locations drew big crowds to their unique "bubble" display on State Street where they sold coffee, tea and several  food choices.
