The National Weather Service advising the Twin Tiers that the latest system set to move through could leave several inches of snow and a glazing of ice in the region.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. March 3 to 7 a.m. March 4 with the potential for two to four inches of snow and up to a quarter of an inch of ice, possibly causing a big challenge for the afternoon commute.

Forecasters say snow was expected to start in the afternoon and change over freezing rain and sleet in the early evening and through the overnight.

Roads could become slippery.
