The Binghamton Devils new coach is Mark Dennehy.  He takes over for Rick Kowalsky who left to become an assistant coach with Binghamton's parent team the New Jersey Devils.  The announcement came today from New Jersey's Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero and Tom Fitzgerald who is the Assistant General Manager/Binghamton Devils.

Dennehy is 50 years of age and was the head coach at Merrrimack College in Hockey East for 13 seasons.  He had taken a job as Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations with the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL this summer.

Dennehy played collegiately with Boston College from 1987-1991 and followed that with one pro season with Ayr in the British Hockey League.  In a press release from the Binghamton Devils Dennehy is slated to travel to Slovakia to coach Team USA's Under-17 Select Team for the Five Nations Tournament later this month
