McDonald's turned a lot of heads last Wednesday after announcing their future goals to raise wages beginning July 1st. Over 90,000 low-paid employees can expect to receive $9.90 (that's a $1.15 more than New York State's current minimum wage).

That's not all! The worldwide restaurant is also offering their employees who have been there over a year a total of five paid days off and education opportunities.

According to Huffington Post, a majority of employees at the fast food chain say they won't be happy until they're earning $15 an hour.

Perhaps a happy medium in the future? McDonald's is set to raise wages again by the end of the year to over $10.

There are several Golden Arches in the Binghamton area including Court Street in Downtown Binghamton, Vestal Parkway in Vestal and Upper Front Street in Binghamton that are hiring. Maybe you could be the first employee to receive the increased pay rate at one of our local fast food chains.

If you're a minimum wage worker, what is your opinion on McDonald's raising wages?
