New York State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo says the Governor has signed a bill she co-sponsored to expand the state’s Move Over Law to include garbage trucks.

The Endwell Democrat says the law that takes effect November 1 will have drivers move over or slow down when approaching a sanitation truck on a public highway.

The bill was co-sponsored in the Senate by Republican Fred Akshar.

In November, 2015, Taylor Garbage employee Sean Tilghman was hit and killed while emptying a trash can at the side of the road.
