October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. 'The Spirit Indestructible' singer Nelly Furtado is the latest pop star to join the fight against breast cancer by speaking up and lending her voice and her image to the cause.

The Canadian songbird stars in a black and white 'Rock Ur Pink' PSA for the Music Choice network, wearing a neon pink blazer (which provides the only splash of color in the clip, further reminding us of BCA, since pink is the movement's signature shade) while she rattles off stats on why women should have this issue at the forefront of their minds.

Furtado encourages research and early detection in her declarative speaking voice, reminding the viewer that there are survivors of this disease. Breast cancer affects so many women and their families, and a clip like this is an effective tool to keep the conversation going.

Rock Ur Pink is a month-long social campaign promoting breast cancer awareness for BreastCancer.org, a nonprofit dedicated to providing the most reliable, complete, and up-to-date information about breast cancer.

Furtado's 30-second PSA may be short, but it's high impact, shining the pink spotlight (courtesy of the blazer) on the cause. Pass it on.
