Relationships are not always easy, and when you make a mistake, you should always apologize. But, BuzzFeed explains that not everything that happens in a relationship needs to be apologized for.

  • Saying "No" is in your right to do. If you are not feeling particularly randy that evening, you are always allowed to say no without feeling like you need to say that you're sorry for it afterwards.
  • Hanging out with your friends is another thing that you are allowed to do. No one, not even your significant other, has control over your time and who you're allowed to spend it with.
  • Reciprocation of your acts of kindness because, honestly, a relationship is a two-way street. If you cook dinner that night, it's not too much to ask if the other person washes the dishes. You should not apologize for asking for reciprocation.

Just because you are in a relationship does not mean that things have to suddenly change in every other aspect of your life. You are still allowed your freedom, your opinions and your peace of mind. Never apologize for things that need no apologies.
