The Associated Press reports some lawmakers in New York State are questioning whether enough is being done to prevent tick-borne illnesses.

Hearings are planned through the summer, starting August 29, to talk about the larger than normal tick problem and potential for illnesses like Lyme Disease in the state.

Republicans Sue Serino and Kemp Hannon say new cases of Lyme are being reported around the state.
