Nicki Minaj sat down with GQ writer Taffy Brodesser-Akney to discuss her upcoming album 'The Pinkprint,' due out Nov. 24. You can read the full article on GQ.com, but if you're pressed for time, we compiled a list of the 5 most interesting things we learned from the interview. Check it out below!

1) Nicki's exhausted.

A continuous thread throughout the GQ article is Nicki's seeming inability to stay awake during the interview. It's no surprise that the 'Anaconda' singer was dead tired -- the interview took place during New York Fashion Week, a time when celebrities are notoriously busy, constantly shuffling around from one to event to another. The interviewer counts no less than four times in which she catches Nicki dozing off.

2) She's 100 percent over playing dress up.

Known early on in her career as the hip-hop counterpart to pop's Lady Gaga -- a least costume-wise -- Nicki made the conscious decision to ditch the outrageous outfits and keep it simple this era.

"I always thought that by the time I put out a third album, I would want to come back to natural hair and natural makeup," she said. "I thought, I will shock the world again and just be more toned down. I thought that would be more shocking than to keep on doing exactly what they had already seen."

3) Nicki was fired from her high school waitress job at Red Lobster.

She details the reason she was fired from the job: after confronting a couple who had stolen a pen from her, she 'flipped them the bird' in the restaurant's parking lot. When asked whether the pen held any significance to her Nicki responded, "No. It was the principle."

4) She doesn't see the 'Anaconda' music video -- widely lauded as a commentary on feminism and female empowerment -- as having a message deeper than its surface level components.

It seems everyone and her mother has written a gender studies dissertation on the music video for 'Anaconda,' but Nicki doesn't buy it.

"I don't know what there is to really talk about," she says. "I'm being serious. I just see the video as being a normal video."

5) ... Except, maybe she does.

Extending an olive branch to the author of the GQ piece, Nicki admits that, well, maybe there is something feminist about the video after all.

"...that was important for us to show in the kitchen scene, because it's always about the female taking back the power, and if you want to be flirty and funny that's fine, but always keeping the power and the control in everything."
