More than seven weeks after a string of apparent arson fires, Binghamton police have not taken any suspects into custody.

City firefighters battled three blazes at unoccupied houses in a period of less than six hours from late March 6 into the following morning.

The first fire occurred at an abandoned building on Tudor Street. About four hours later, a fast-moving blaze tore through an empty three-family building on Livingston Street. Shortly after that, someone apparently set a fire on the rear side of a two-story apartment house on Susquehanna Street.

The three fires downtown and a short distance away on the South Side occurred a few days after another suspicious fire heavily damaged a vacant apartment house near Columbus Park.

No arrests have been made in connection with the apparent arson fires.

People with information about the incidents may contact the Binghamton police detective bureau at 607.772.7080.
