Ode to the Greatest Departed Boy Band Members

Just like the 1D fans, we were heartbroken to hear the news of Zayn's departure from the boy band. Let's take another moment of silence for the lost member.

Fans have taken the news to an extreme at the Madame Tussaud's wax museum in London. Yes, we're talking about the boy band's wax figures that is now assisted by a tissue attendant nearby for fans to dry their tears as they say goodbye.

The good news? It's not goodbye forever. The museum has no intentions of removing the wax figure and have over 150 boxes of tissues on hand.

Now, we take a moment to remember other boy bands that have lost a member/broke up.

• The Jones Brothers: Much like One Direction, The Jonas Brothers had millions of teary-eyed fans asking why. The boys, excuse me, men, are all seeking their own solo careers.
• The Black Eyed Peas: Though they don't necessarily fit into the 'boy band' theme, their 'time off' had us brokenhearted. Fergie and Will.I.Am are doing the solo artists thing now.
• N'SYNC: Oh one of the greatest boy bands of the 90's, how could we forget? Justin Timberlake is one of the more notable band members who has moved onto pursue his own music.
• The Backstreet Boys: Kevin Richardson was the first member to leave, only to return years later. We aren't quite sure what that was all about, but we're happy to see the band back together and thriving!
• The Beatles: The 70's were not immune to the boy band splits. This legendary band split along time ago but their music certainly lives on.

It's bye, bye, bye (see what we did there?) for now One Direction fans, but we can hope Zayn will have a solo career one day soon!
