Officials Investigate Two Saturday Evening Fires in Broome County

Officials are looking into the cause of two fires that were reported within hours of each other May 5.

Crews were first called to a house on West Deerfield Place in Vestal at 6:36 p.m.  That blaze reportedly was centered mainly in the attic.

Firefighters from West Corners and Endwell assisted at the scene.

Two hours later, at about 8:40 p.m., firefighters responded to a blaze at a trailer in the Virginia City Trailer Park on Route 369 in Port Crane. There was no information available about the extent of the damage to the mobile home.

Broome County Emergency Services officials had no reports of injuries in either fire.
