Oktoberfest in New York

Oktoberfest has really become very popular here in the states!! There are events all over the country (about 40 just in New York) celebrating Germany, it's beer, food and customs! Just in New York there are 2.2 million people that share a German ancestry, and if you aren’t German, who cares? You can still enjoy the events and drink!

I try to get to an Oktoberfest at least once a year, if not more and the nice part is they are all over New York so it doesn't matter where you live you can still enjoy the festivities!

Here are some Oktoberfest events going on in NY now until the end of October!!!:

• Bear Mountain Oktoberfest - Bear Mountain, NY - Sep 10 to Oct 30, 2016
  Every Saturday & Sunday plus Columbus Day. Live entertainment, German food and beer; free admission but $8 parking per vehicle.
• Oktoberfest New York - New York, NY - Sep 17 to Oct 2, 2016
  Watermark NY (Pier 15), located in Lower Manhattan. Admission is free with two hour beer tasting for $60.
• Hunter Mountain Oktoberfest - Hunter, NY - Sep 24 to Oct 16, 2016
  Free admission. Four weekends of Oktoberfest fun with German-American music and local bands.
• Whiteface Oktoberfest - Wilmington, NY - Oct 1 to Oct 2, 2016
  Head into the Adirondacks for a weekend of celebrating all things German at Whiteface Mountain. Authentic German music, dancing, beer and food along with crafts and complimentary rides for kids and adults. Discounted gondola trips to the summit of Little Whiteface for a view of the fall foliage in the Adirondacks.
• North Albany Oktoberfest - Albany, NY - Oct 1 to Oct 1, 2016
• Old Falls Street Oktoberfest - Niagara Falls, NY - Oct 1 to Oct 1, 2016
  Celebrate at the 7th annual Niagara Falls Oktoberfest on Old Falls Street. Authentic German food, beer and wine along with beer tent, street vendors, live music, German dancers and keg tapping. Family fun zone offers arts & crafts, petting zoo and bounce house for kids. Free admission. Hours are from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
