Self-care is pretty important for your mental health, even your grandparents probably had self-care routines that they worked on. Bustle says that there are some old fashioned self-care activities that we should bring back.

  • Get your hair done at a salon just like they would back in the 1950's and 1960's. Women used to frequent a hair salon once a week in order to get their hair done. Treat yourself every once in a while and go get your hair done!
  • Take a bubble bath in order to help you relax after a long day. Light a few candles, put on some soothing music, and just enjoy the experience of soaking in the tub. Plus, studies are showing now that taking a bath could help you live longer!
  • Go for a drive out on the open road in the back woods somewhere. Take your significant other and plan a weekend getaway. Turn off your phone, turn up the radio, and just relax with the wind in your hair. Now, that sounds amazing to me!

Working on your self-care can offer you limitless opportunities, so why don't you try what your grandparents used to do and see if that helps you mentally as well?
