City police were called to a home in the 100 block of Leroy Street at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say when officers arrived, the man had already died of apparent stab wounds.

Three other people who are believed to be members of the same family were taken to a hospital. Police did not release the conditions of those who also sustained stab wounds.

A woman who lives nearby told WNBF News she had been walking her dog near Laurel and Leroy streets when she heard two women loudly screaming, "help, help, help!"

The woman said her husband told her a man then came out of the house on Leroy Street. She said the man was heard yelling, "What the f--- are you doing?" That man then began yelling for help.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, said her husband saw a body lying on the street. She said he then called police to report the dispute.

The woman indicated one of the people who was transported from the scene by ambulance appeared to have been seriously hurt.

Police closed Leroy Street between Laurel Avenue and Beethoven Street as they started to investigate the dispute.
