Uh oh, Directioners.... you guys better be careful what you're saying about the band on social media!

One Direction members Niall Horan and Harry Styles have gone to such great lengths to see what their fans are saying about them, that they've decided to create fake Twitter profiles in order to spy on their biggest fans!

According to a source, the guys like to do what they've called "research" about what fans think of them, and even interact with their unsuspecting fans via the social networking site by asking them questions and engaging in conversations.

Harry and Niall like to get personal with the fans, but it's hard to talk one-on-one with them without being cyber-mobbed," said the source. "So in the last few months they've started using pseudonyms to befriend their fans on twitter. They have no idea the strangers they're talking to are actually their idols."

If you're a big 1D fan, then keep an eye out for strangers starting conversations with you! But be warned, because the guys are so on top of their research, that they often change usernames every few weeks to avoid confusion.

"They find out what fans enjoy most at the gigs and which songs they like and don't like. It's also a good place to hear what the latest rumours are. They say it helps them kill time as well when they're waiting in hotels and airports around the world," said a source via The Daily Star newspaper. "Harry does it the most. He loves finding out what the fans really think."

How awesomely scandalous!
