A man wanted on multiple arrest warrants is accused of trying to elude sheriff's deputies by jumping out the window of a town of Dickinson motel.

Authorities say 27-year-old Daniel Santacroce of Binghamton was spotted driving from the motel parking lot at a high rate of speed early Monday morning.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle but it sped off, heading south into the city of Binghamton. The car eventually stopped on Elm Street near Mygatt Street in the First Ward, where Santacroce was taken into custody.

Investigators say Santacroce did not possess a valid driver's license and his driving privileges also had been suspended. He also was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

Santacroce had been wanted on arrest warrants for petit larceny issued by courts in Vestal and Johnson City.

Santacroce was charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer in a vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation and possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned and ordered held in Broome County Jail on $10,000 bail.
