The Binghamton man accused of killing his estranged wife and her friend last year in the Town of Binghamton is guilty on all counts.

After about a week and a half of testimony, Aaaron Powell, who did not attend any day of his trial, has been found guilty of murder and other counts.

Powell was accused of strangling Christina Powell with an electrical cord in her Lisi Lane home and bludgeoning her friend, 24 year old Mario Masciarelli in March, 2013.

Authorities looked for Powell for four days following the murders and he was finally located at a convenience store in Susquehanna County where he was taken into custody.

The Broome County jury deliberated less than 2 hours before saying evidence presented proved beyond reasonable doubt that Powell killed the pair.

The verdict was delivered shortly after 4 p.m., about 6 hours after the defense had been scheduled to present its case.

The Public Defender representing Powell is expected to file an appeal.
