Rabies can be very serious if you or your pet comes in contact with a rabid animal such as a raccoon, squirrel, bat, skunk or a fox.  Brain Disease or even death can occur as the rabies virus infects the central nervous system.

According to the CDC website, symptoms include: "fever, headache, insomnia, anxiety, confusion, slight or partial paralysis, excitation, hallucinations, agitation, hypersalivation (increase in saliva), difficulty swallowing, and hydrophobia (fear of water). Death usually occurs within days of the onset of these symptoms."

It's just not worth taking a chance not getting a simple shot for your dog or cat.  Shots tend to cost more at your veterinarian, that's why people search for rabies clinics, as they tend to cost much less.

The Athens Township, 45 Herrick Ave in Sayre, Pennsylvania is having their fall rabies clinic and the cost is only $8 a pet.  Bring your leashed dogs and crated cats to the Athens Township Building on Saturday, October 15th from 10 a.m. to Noon for a low cost rabies vaccine, and you'll be helping out the Bradford County Humane Society.
