What looked like a harmless rain storm on Monday was causing major damage and flash flooding in certain areas of the Southern Tier.

Up the road from my house in Johnson City is a creek and, it seems, without fail every spring it spills over onto the road and brings with it big boulders, tree limbs, and mud. This time, it caused my street to be closed for several hours as they used heavy equipment to remove about 4 dump truck loads of debris off the road.

It did cause some inconvenience for me. But, as you'll notice from the pictures, the house at the bottom of the hill got the worst of it.
