When I was a kid, I was convinced that the only reason my mom had kids was to order us around. Clearly, that wasn't the reason, but my hormonal and emotional teenaged-self was convinced it was true.

My mom had a green chair (that she gifted to me when I became a mom) which was called the "mom chair," because mom used to always sit in it and hold out her empty coffee cup and say, "more coffee, please." One of us kids would grab her cup and get her a refill. And this is partially why my ridiculous teenaged self was convinced mom had a small army of children- so she could sit in her chair and have them get her coffee refills.

According to The Verge, Aeolus Robotics has introduced a new consumer robot that could end up taking the place of having to have your kids fetch things for you. This robot, which was created for the purpose of being a household helper, can do all sorts of things from vacuuming to sweeping and it can even grab a beer from the fridge for you if you ask it to. Genius!
