The repairs on the Court Street bridge began Thursday. Curbs on both side of the span over the Chenango River have been in poor condition for the last few years.

Albert Torto Construction Corporation of Binghamton is being paid $81,190 for the project.

Workers say the job is expected to take nearly a month to complete.

Two-way traffic will be maintained while the work is underway. During the first phase of the project, the north side of the bridge will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians.

BC Transit buses were able to pass through the work zone despite narrowed traffic lanes on the south side of the bridge.
