Falling asleep and staying asleep is something that I struggle with, so I'm sure that I can't be alone in this. Bustle has some great self-care tips that can help both you and I sleep at night (and hopefully stay asleep!).

  • Read just before bed to get yourself away from your cell phone or television and start to wind down. Reading has also been known to reduce stress, too, so it can help to calm your mind if you're feeling wired.
  • Listening to music has been shown in studies to help people improve the quality and quantity of their sleep in just a few weeks. Maybe this is worth a try?
  • Take a warm bath or shower to make you feel sleepier and relax you before going to bed. You gain the most benefits when you take a bath an hour to an hour and a half before you try to fall asleep.

Winding down before bed, however you decide to do it, will help you to slow your thoughts and hopefully calm you down enough to crawl into bed and fell asleep quickly.
