Should Your Company Be Banned From Emailing At Night?

We seem to depend on our phones so much that it is hard to imagine setting it aside and forgetting about it. I use mine for an alarm so when I am asleep in the middle of the night and my buddies are drunk texting it gets really annoying.

But, congrats to the French for leading the way on this bold initiative!

It looks like the French government is about to pass a law that will BAN companies from emailing their employees at night and on the weekends.

One of the members of parliament who's behind the law says it's necessary because right now, quote, "Employees physically leave the office, but . . . they remain attached by a kind of electronic leash, like a dog."

Of course, even if this DOES happen in France, I wouldn't bet on it coming to America any time soon.  Because it's REALLY not in this country's DNA.  But . . . dare to dream. (BBC)
