Sigrid’s video for her newest single “High Five” is a lighthearted tribute to self-acceptance.

The Norwegian songbird made her synth-pop comeback Thursday (May 17) just in time to spice up our summer playlists. The sunny ditty, which appears on the 21-year-old’s 3-track EP Raw, is an open invitation to be true to yourself and those around you, to ditch the mask once and for all.

Oh, everybody loves a show / Lights on, they all go home,” the BBC Sound of 2018 champ cheers on in the visual, filled with scene allusions from high school movie favorites like E.T. and High School Musical 2.

“‘High Five’ is about the importance of being completely open and honest with each other,” the young hitmaker told i-D of the record, who reinterprets the common gesture of camaraderie as a flawed seal of approval of misleading impressions. “We used high fives as an image of superficial relations. I love the tune, and there was such a good team behind it! Emily Warren, Martin Sjølie, Odd Martin Skålnes and I.”
