Binghamton Police are identifying those involved in a fatal day-time shooting on the West Side Wednesday, August 31.

Police say 27 year old Nicholas Chappell, who lives at the Mozart Street home where the shooting occurred, is charged with murder.

He’s accused of shooting 23 year old David Sanborn of Whitney Point and 26 year old Jordan Doolittle of Windsor when the men knocked on his door shortly after 11 a.m.

Sanborn died while Doolittle was shot in the arm.

Police Chief Joseph Zikuski described Sanborn as an innocent bystander who arrived at the West Side Home with Doolittle, who knows Chappell.

The two men parked in front of Chappell’s home and knocked on the door. Neighbors report moments later several shots were heard inside the home.

The incident is still under investigation.
