Let there be no doubt about whose side Stevie Nicks is taking in the war of words between 'American Idol' judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. In a new interview, Nicks calls Minaj a "little girl" and says she would have killed Minaj if the rapper had spoken to her the way she spoke to Mariah.

Addressing the video that surfaced last week, in which Minaj berated Carey at the judges' table during an audition, Nicks told The Daily, "How dare this little girl! … If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there. I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it."

We can't imagine too many pop stars eagerly going on the attack against Nicki Minaj, but Stevie Nicks has proven over several decades that she's fearless. The Fleetwood Mac member and accomplished solo performer added that she would've had no reservations about appearing on a show like 'Idol' had it been around when she was starting out.

"That’s how you get seen these days," Nicks said, adding that bandmate Lindsey Buckingham might have needed some convincing. "I would have had to drag [Lindsey] kicking and screaming. He probably would have given them the finger.”

The 64-year-old Nicks is promoting her new documentary, 'In Your Dreams,' which was also the title of her last album, a Top 10 release from 2011.
