New York State Electric and Gas says it will be flying helicopters in the area to look for additional damage from the May 1 storm to their transmission system.

Residents can identify the helicopter by the tail number N65CR that will be in Sanford, Deposit, Bainbridge, Sidney and the Town of Masonville.

NYSEG says during the storm, more than 60,000 customers lost power at one time or another.

The utility also distributed dry ice and bottled water at fire stations in the region.

While power, for the most part, in New York and Pennsylvania is back on, there still may be some spots with traffic signals that are not operating and where debris may still be along the roads.
