My daughter Alexis is obsessed with the band, 5 Seconds of Summer. She has seen them perform several times, and when she found out that they were going to be performing on Good Morning America, she begged me to take her and her friend.

The only problem was you needed special tickets. The tickets are free but you are put into a lottery to see if you win. Luckily for us we actually won tickets!

So on Thursday we jumped on the bus and headed to the city. We got there and our first stop was Serendipity to have some frozen hot chocolate. They are so amazing! Then the girls wanted to walk down to Central Park where the band would be performing on Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series. That's when they saw several girls already lined up. So instead of going to the hotel, the girls insisted that we get in line even though the show wasn't until the next morning! And that's exactly what we did!

We waited in line starting around 4 o'clock on Thursday afternoon. It actually was a lot of fun and we made several friends who are also big fans. It was fun until it started to pour! But we stuck it out. Then morning finally came. And they started letting people into the park. The line was extremely long but because we got in line the day before we were right in front. So we finally get into where they film the show and it was really neat to watch how they filmed Good Morning America. The band came out and did their sound check so the girls actually got to see them perform twice. They played three songs.

And all I have to say is I have been to many concerts including some heavy rock to rap concerts, I have been right up front in the pit, but I have never seen a crowd so crazy! These girls were fighting for every inch to get closer to the band. Girls were passing out left and right. But at the end of the day it was such a great experience and so much fun. Alexis cried happy tears. And we will always remember the day and night we "slept" in the street outside of Central Park to watch five seconds of summer.
